Statement.

Like a catalog, my body of work documents individuals, places, and memories that have left a psychological imprint. Experiences are seldom neutral; they are imbued with records of feelings, even behaviors, that I explore in my work. Painting these experiences is an invitation for foreign elements to enter familiar surroundings -- an attempt to seamlessly combine the physical and psychological, the image and emotion.

At its core, my work is an experimentation in color theory and form, often contradicting complimentary colors with a literal destruction of forms and figures. Sympathetic to repeating forms, each mark is approached with intention and often influenced by the one made prior. I try to paint the silent, indefinable space, between us. I am looking.

Meanwhile the search broadens. . . something beyond beauty, rather strange.
